Artificial insemination pig sperm activity maintenance device maXipig
This is a device that maintains the active state of sperm by irradiating semen with a specific pattern of red LED light and keeping the temperature inside the device at approximately 17 degrees.
◇ Just before artificial insemination, semen will be irradiated using maXipig. The method of artificial insemination will be carried out as usual. ◇ After two years of joint research with the University of Barcelona and the University of Oxford, we developed and jointly published our research results in Scientific Reports in 2016. ◇ It was launched in early 2017, and there have been approximately 100 units sold, mainly in Europe. ◇ At the 2017 SPACE exhibition (International Livestock Exhibition, Rennes, France), it received the Innov’SPACE award, which is the highest honor in the pig farming category.
